Here Comes the Sun!

It is finally warm enough to dress Little P in cute sun dresses. She has a bunch of them, but she's not big enough for some of them yet. When Grandma Chris was here we went shopping and I bought this cute Hawaiian print dress for her. I can't wait to continue putting her in dresses. I am determined that she will be a girly girl!

P.S. Little P is what I (Lisa) call her because there has always been a P attached to my name. Lisa P, P Monster, Sweet P, etc. She looks a lot like me and she's my little one, so I just started calling her Little P.

6 Weeks

Emma is 6 weeks old. Here are some facts about Emma right now: She weighs at least 10 pounds (she hasn't been weighed in a few days). She wears size 0-3 month clothing. Newborn clothes are too short. She eats every 3 hours or so and is starting to go for longer lengths at night. She generally takes a short morning nap and a longer afternoon nap. The bouncy seat is a big hit and the swing works wonders during nap time. She now smiles and interacts with us. Her smiles are the BEST! She continues to bring enormous amounts of joy to our lives :)

Grandma and Papa came to town

Grandma Chris and Papa Alan came out to Fort Wayne to visit us. After a very rocky trip out here they managed to make it to our house at 1:30 am after driving in from Chicago. A word to the wise, NEVER fly through Chicago unless you absolutely have to. Anyways, it was a pretty gray and rainy weekend. Not very good weather for exploring the city, not that there's much to explore! So we spent most of our time inside holding Emma. We were grateful for the break. Grandma changed lots of diapers, snuggled the baby, and helped around the house. Papa put Emma to sleep, mowed the lawn and helped Matt run errands. It was great to spend time ith them and we were sad to see them go. Here are some highlights from their trip.

1 Month Check-Up

Today we had Emma's 1 month Well Baby check up. According to the doctor, everything looks great :) She is currently weighing in at 8 lbs 14 oz and is 22 1/2 inches long. She is in the 95 percentile for height and the 50% percentile for weight. We like our doctor, but if the next appointment goes like today did, we will be looking for a new doctor. We were there for 2 hours! And we only saw the doctor for 15 minutes! We didn't even see the doctor until an hour after our appointment was supposed to start. Sigh. Anyways, Emma continues to do well. She eats every 3- 4 hours and actually slept for 5 hours last night! It was wonderful! Emma is looking forward to the visit from her Grandma and Papa this Friday :)

WubbaNub

A few months back, I read on a blog about a little pacifier device called the WubbaNub. Basically its a small beanie baby attached to a Soothie pacifier. The idea behind it is that the weight of the stuffed animal will help keep the pacifier in. Initially, Emma was using a NUK pacifier. However, in the last week or so she has decided that she no longer likes the NUK and now prefers the Soothie. So far I'd say we have about 50% success with the WubbaNub because Emma likes to move her arms around and frequently pulls out her own pacifier. It is pretty cute though because she will grab on to the little doggie attached to her Soothie and hug it to her. Here's a picture of Emma loving on her WubbaNub.
